Anthropologie Knockoff Tutorial: Piccadilly Drops

Anthropologie Knockoff Tutorial: Piccadilly Drops
Hello Sweets! Yes, the final countdown for Christmas Day has started, and I can almost hear the echoing sound of clock ticking…! I always wonder (like, every year) why I feel like Christmas Day is running towards me in ‘sorry Usain Bolt, you’re simply too slow’ sort of speed, no matter how well prepared I am. Or maybe no one can really prepare enough for the big day, I don’t know!
Anyways, today’s Anthro knockoff is perfect for a last-ditch attempt to sort out all the gift making – it’s quick, easy and pretty :)

First of all, this is the original version, Piccadilly Drops, $48, from Anthropologie.
Pretty, right? And the best part is that you only need a few things to make the earrings.
What you’ll need (from left):
Anthropologie Knockoff Tutorial: Piccadilly Drops tool
  • 4 metal rings (I’m using Beadalon ‘twisted’ 16mm solid rings)
  • 4 drop beads (I’m using Swarovski 8mm xilion mini pear drops)
  • a pair of ear wires
  • (not in the photo) beading wire, about 20cm (I’m using 24 gauge Artistic Wire), pair of round-nose and flat-nose pliers and wire cutters
Instructions:

1) Thread a drop bead to beading wire, twist the wire twice above the bead, and trim the shorter end of wire.
2) Create a loop above the twist using round-nose pliers. The loop should be big enough to hold two metal rings later.

3) Add two metal rings to the loop.
4) Wind the wire around 3-4 times below the loop.

5) Trim the excess wire. Now it looks like this – two rings and the drop bead are connected.
6) Repeat step 1 to 3, this time adding the ring and an ear wire to the loop.

7) Wind the wire around 3-4 times below the loop, and cut the excess wire.

Repeat the process to make another set, and you’re done! Didn’t I tell you it was easy?

I think it’d be fun to make a pair with two different coloured beads, or add another loop and have three different colours in one (ombre sounds so delicious!). Hope you enjoyed the tutorial :)
